Leo Borghi was born in Montagnana in 1937. Since 1950 he has lived in Padua. In the period between the 60s and 80s he participated in numerous exhibitions, including around a hundred held in public and private galleries in various Italian cities. Since 1990 he has also been present with personal exhibitions at Artefiera in Padua, Bologna, Vicenza, Forlì and, with some works at MilanoArte and ExpoArte in Bari. The painter has a strong bond with the Padua area, which manifests itself in the subjects of many of his paintings , often monuments and characters attributable to the city's fourteenth century and to the series of works visible for example in the churches of Santa Rita, San Giuseppe, inside the Court of Padua and in the church of Santa Maria Assunta in Piove di Sacco. The artist's painting consists of reminiscences and the telling of particular episodes in the history of the city, characters and atmospheres, recomposing them in a free and light pictorial gesture without too much scenic insistence.
