Giulio Falzoni (Marmirolo 1900 - Milan 1978)Ever since he was a boy he worked at drawing. His most effective painting teacher was the frescoist Cesare Soncini with whom he worked for some years. In the 1930s he began to frequent the Academy of Florence and also the studios of Tommasi and that of Nomellini. In 1939 he held a first exhibition in Mantua, but his real debut was in Florence, in 1941. In 1946, on the occasion of a solo show at the Galleria Forti in Naples, Vincenzo Irolli invited him to paint in his Neapolitan studio, while the English Head invited him to go to London to paint watercolors of London subjects, which, then, in 1947 appeared in an exhibition held at the Bear Hotel. To Falzoni's great works are added numerous studies and experiments carried out in individual stays in Mantua (1916-23), in Florence (1928-44), in Naples (1947-52), in Paris (1954-57) and finally in Milan since 1958. His cultural interests see him as a writer of essays on modern art and creator of a new formula called "Audiovisual Art", which aims to bring together music, poetry and painting in a single representation and many of Falzoni's paintings are inspired by the Overture of Wagner's opera, the works of Rossini, lyrical pieces by Puccini, Leoncavallo and the poetry of Pablo Neruda.
