His colored methacrylate modeling are real action-sculptures: "the artist shapes the transparent and fluorescent Perspex sheet and manages to capture and free the void of the full form that it circumscribes" (Floriano de Santis 1990). Perspex and evelpiume introduce two new materials, foam rubber and polymethylacrylate ignored by contemporary figurative language until 1959. Thus "nomadic sculptures" are born in which the artist binds and unties the sheet of foam rubber, continuously creating new forms. The definition "primary forms of matter and the cosmos" given by Franco Passoni happily qualifies the exhibition held in Jesolo in 1978 "Binding and Untying". The evelpiuma and the Agrà universe of Sante Monachesi", one of the most original manifestations of the the era organized with the contribution of the psychiatrist Franco Basaglia and in full harmony with his new therapies. For the occasion the evelpiume, hanging lightly from the ceiling, were exhibited together with the works of the patients of the psychiatric hospital of Trieste, while a creative laboratory. it was available to visitors as a real liberating machine.
