Sciacca Antonio (Catania, 1957) Antonio Sciacca is an Italian artist from Catania, graduated in art. During his artistic career he met and became friends with artists such as Burri and Bacon. In the 1980s he received recognition from the critic Alberico Sala, who works for the Corriere della Sera. In the 1990s he founded a pictorial movement, called "Metropolism", in which he dedicated himself to social issues such as consumerism and "status symbols". Among the numerous exhibitions related to Metropolism, the most important was the one organized in Madrid at the Institute of Italian Culture and the one held in 2000 at the Museo del Risorgimento Vittoriano, presented by the critic Achille Bonito Oliva.
