Franco Angeli Biography

Angeli Franco (Rome, 1935 - Rome, 1988) His training is completely self-taught.

It is a special bond that binds Capitolium Art to the city of Rome: our Roman headquarters is located in Mario Schifano's former studio, a place of great importance for the history of Italian art; Our experts will thus be able to personally and quickly evaluate the artist's works. In 1958 he began to exhibit his works which were initially influenced by Burri's informal current and art. He is one of the main exponents of the Piazza del Popolo School, established together with Tano Festa and Mario Schifano, with whom he will join the path that will lead him towards Pop Art. In 1964 he is present at the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadrennial. In the Seventies he dedicated himself to political themes and subsequently created paintings that testify to his travels to the East. His works are rich in images and symbols of power. The techniques used range from oil and enamel on canvas, to watercolor on paper, then moving on from photographic transfers to silk-screen prints.
