Bernard Aubertin (Fontenay -aux-Roses, France, 1934 - Reutlingen 2015). After an apprenticeship at the School of Decorative Art, he met Yves Klein, who in 1958 moved him towards the creation of red monochrome panels. Red will be the artist's favorite color, which will remind him of fire and blood. In 1961 he joined the Zero group of Dusseldorf and the Nul of Amsterdam, later coming into contact with Fontana and Manzoni. Together with the monochrome canvases, he created his first paintings of fire and burned books, combining matches, fuses and small explosives, thus allowing the combustion of the book. He is attracted by the reflection of the flame, its sinuous movement and the destructive process of the fire. His artistic activity is divided between Paris, Brest and Italy, there are numerous solo exhibitions and just as many awards. Currently the monochrome works have moved to shades of gold and black and white.
