Franco Azzinari (San Demetrio Corone, Cosenza, 1949). After the death of his parents he began to travel throughout Europe and in Paris he was enchanted by the impressionist paintings. There he discovered himself as a portrait painter and began painting to earn a living. After his French stay, he opened a studio in Lerici, and created panels depicting Ligurian landscapes. In 1974 he inaugurated his first solo exhibition and in the same year, in Milan, he opened a studio-gallery. Since 1977 he has traveled to the East, the United States, Brazil and the Seychelles. During a trip to Cuba he seemed to rediscover the colors of his land and created works depicting still lifes, sunny countryside and portraits of important figures, including Fidel Castro and Gregorio Fuentas. these works are collected and published in volume and subsequently exhibited in Havana, at the National Museum. Having moved to Greece, he allowed himself to be captivated by the charm of mythology and created a series of works that portrayed the island. He currently lives between Italy and Greece.
