Walter Benecchi is a painter born in 1922, whose artistic production is characterized by the use of a very strong expressionist language. His artistic technique is based on gestures in applying color and a strong propensity for brown monochrome. Benecchi wants to go beyond what is perceived by the observer and extrapolate the true sense of reality, communicating it in an excited and dramatic way. This is possible through the application of colour, which allows the development of a synthesis process that reduces the subjects to dense and material pictorial layers. Benecchi's aesthetic choice is based on the predominance of brown tones, which makes it difficult for the figures to emerge on the surface. In 1961, the artist created an exhibition entitled Pieghevole, which was held at the "Galleria 3950" in Venice. In general, the artist's expressionistic power is due to his ability to enhance the painter's own emotionality, together with the struggle between the pictorial material of his subjects.
