Carlo Bertilotti was born in Viareggio in 1923. His culture was formed through personal, hard self-taught study, facilitated by travel to France, England, Holland, Japan etc. and has determined his artistic maturation which now sees him as an acute observer of the most human sides of existence. However, he places all his attention on nature, in its simplest aspects. In this he manages to express the best of himself.
