Adorno Bonciani was born in Ponte a Ema (Fi) in 1920; lives and works in Florence. From an early age he showed a strong artistic inclination, so much so that some of his drawings made at primary school in the 1930s were chosen by Rosai and published in the magazine Il Bargello. Having obtained his surveyor's diploma in 1946, he worked in the technical sector, carrying out important works including the heating system in the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence after the flood of 1966. From 1946 to 1960 he stayed in Milan and Venice and began to dedicate himself to painting by assimilating various experiences, from the lessons of the great masters of the past to Cubism and Futurism, including some suggestions for Campigli and Gentilini, developing a very personal language full of poetic tension, lived experiences and imagination. He wrote humorous poems and two books: La candid Valle dell'Ema in 1977 (ed. Giorgi and Gambi) dedicated to his town which inspired the simple and often funny humors of his people and Ulinto in 1995 (ed. Centro 2P) . Countless personal exhibitions in Florence, Italy and in various parts of the world, especially in the United States and Japan.
