Antonio Borrelli Biography
Antonio Borrelli is an artist born on May 31, 1969 in Naples. Son of art, he began his apprenticeship at a young age in his father Francesco's studio. Showing great ease in mastering the various painting techniques and a strong personality in his compositions, he attracted the attention of the public from the early years of his artistic activity.
Although his first period can be considered part of the Italian figurative-landscape movement of the 80s and 90s, Antonio Borrelli's works stand out for their freshness and originality. Alongside hyper-realistic elements, there are shapes and colors of different interpretations, inspired by currents such as divisionism, pointillism and post-impressionism, as well as a personal, almost naïve research and vision. The result is a set of sometimes surreal sensations, which take the observer into an idyllic and perfect world, surrounded by exceptional sunshine. Although the works appear apparently static and for contemplation, they release a dynamism and refinement that allow the visitor to immerse themselves in a dreamy and ideal environment, full of life, movement and harmony. Antonio Borrelli has participated in numerous exhibitions, including the Città della Scienza, TBIZ Event, Naples (2015), the Galleria Comunale Avezzano, Avezzano (from 2003 to 2010), the Church of the Holy Souls, Scanno (2004; 2005 ; 2006; 2007), the Province of Naples Cloister Santa Maria la Nova (2006), the Carsoli Collective, Abruzzo (2005), the Hype Gallery, Amsterdam (2005), the Palazzo della Peugeot, Champs Elise, Paris (2005), the Telethon, at BNL offices (from 1994 to 2009) and the Galleria Residence de Louvre, Menton (2004).
