Gastone Breddo Biography

Gastone Bredo (Padua, 1915 - Prato, 1991). He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and subsequently moved to Bologna where he learned engraving techniques from Giorgio Morandi. He exhibited at various exhibitions in the Veneto area and in 1940 he was present at the Venice Biennale. His style is influenced by neo-cubism, evident in still lifes and seascapes. Between the 1940s and 1950s he dedicated himself to abstract art and at the same time continued his activity as an illustrator and engraver.
