Aldo Caron Biography

Aldo Caron (Pove del Grappa, 2 February 1919 – Borgo Valsugana, 7 September 2006) was an Italian sculptor. At seven years old he faced stone for the first time in the workshop of his father, a marble craftsman. A few years later he moved with his family to Borgo Valsugana (TN), where he also dedicated himself to drawing and painting with Ferruccio Gasparetti, "the artist of the Borgo". In the mid-40s he went to Milan and was admitted to the Brera Academy of Fine Arts: first Giacomo Manzù and then Marino Marini were his teachers. He moved and worked in Rome where the Ministry of Education recognized the availability of a studio in Villa Massimo, where artists such as Renato Guttuso and Emilio Greco also worked. He directs the Academy of Fine Arts of Viterbo. In the 90s he returned to reside in Trentino.
