Mauro Emilio Corrias (1941 - 2010) was a painter originally from Milan, born in 1941 and passed away in 2010. He was the protagonist of numerous exhibitions not only in Italy but also abroad. His work has always met with critical and public approval and several of his works are preserved in important collections. The artistic production of Mauro Emilio Corrias is distinguished by a symbolist conception of the landscape view. Corrias uses a painting technique focused on the expressive qualities of color to create a landscape with intriguing symbolic nuances in his production. This technique pushes phenomenal reality to a high level of abstraction. The view of the landscape is altered by the light that merges with the dim light in the chromatic bands of the composition. Reality appears like a surreal dream in which even the colors have spiritual rather than natural meanings. In reality, a strong color, usually red or blue, is constantly present in the area, depending on the feeling the artist wants to convey. From a purely formal point of view, Corrias uses a light brushstroke, made of long and thin strokes that almost seem to convey that sensation of memory.
