Antonio De Muro (1924 - 1992) Born in Taranto in 1924 to Sardinian parents, he lived and worked in Milan all his life until his death in Como in 1992. He settled in Venice after a career undertaken in the Navy and in In 1946 he met the painter Filippo De Pisis who encouraged him and directed him towards painting. In 1957 he organized a national exhibition of Sicilian artists in Milan and took part in many group and personal exhibitions mainly in Palermo (1958), Milan (1958-1959), Livorno, Florence, Verona, Rome, Genoa, Como, Turin. He founded the “La Caravella” art gallery in Como. Recently, his artistic production also includes his initiation into the engraving technique, so much so that he became a member of the Engravers of Italy.
