Antonio Del Donno Biography
Antonio Del Donno (Benevento 1927) He attended the technical institute for surveyors in the years 1945/50, he was only interested in technical architectural drawing, this was how he discovered aesthetics in geometry. He then decided to attend the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, and it was there that he felt stimulated by everything he observed and received the emotion; he immediately understood that this was the path to follow and that drawing was his life. In the 1960s/70s, he began to frequent the Lucio Amelio Gallery in Naples together with Mimmo Paladino, the only friend with whom he exchanged ideas, emotions, research. The curiosity to know pushed him to travel abroad too. The 1964 biennial in Venice was decisive for him. Del Donno has always had a language, a form of expression consistent with his gestures, and a love for photography. Rauschemberg, Tapies, Vedova, Schifani, Warhol, were the his teachers; they pulled out its roots.
