Lenine de Lima Medeiros, aka Delima Medeiros or simply DELIMA, was born in Recife, Pernambuco, in 1935. In 1960 she won first prize for painting and second prize for Engraving at the Salão do Estado de Pernambuco and a scholarship of the French government, moving to Europe, where he lived for 20 years as a professional plastic artist.
In France he studied painting at the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, at the University of Paris, and engraving in Johnny Friedlander's atelier; in Germany he attended the Vunderlicht atelier, at the Kunsthaller Hamburg; in Italy, he studied history of art and design, in Milan he frequented the designers Willy Ramstein, Franco Grignani and Bruno Munari.
Delima has held personal exhibitions in several European cities and capitals: Aachen, Padua, Florence, Venice, Rome, Brescia, Bergamo, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Antibes, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Geneva and Milan.
