Bruno Fanesi (Ancona 1915 - Ancona, 2012) Growing up among the boats and fishermen of the port, he never forgot the landscapes and marine atmospheres, arriving at a young age to a serene painting, imbued with the light between heaven and earth that he could capture while being everything the day to sketch the life of the Ancona port. First a worker, then an employee and interior designer, in the 1940s he was called to manage the Puccini Gallery in Ancona. From 1952 he began to participate in major regional and national artistic exhibitions, holding solo shows in the main Italian and foreign cities. He exhibited mainly in Yugoslavia, Greece, Israel, Germany and Sweden, making himself noticed by numerous critics of newspapers and specialized magazines. In 1968 he moved to Milan where he lived until 1985, the year in which he decided to return to settle in his hometown. He opened the Fanese Gallery in Ancona to enrich and enliven the artistic environment of the city and founded in 1966, with the journalist and friend Giovanni Maria Farroni, the Ginestra d'oro del Conero painting prize, subsequently awarded to himself in 1986. Capable of representing the popular soul of his city, Fanesi studied its cultural traditions making them the starting point of his works, generated through light, colors and above all volumes.
