Vito Ferrara Biography
Born in Naples in 1935 Painter, illustrator, poet He attended the art school at the Villa Maria Fondazione Trossi Uberti section of Livorno under the guidance of Gastone Benvenuti and Giancarlo Cocchia, subsequently he attended the studio of Giovanni March and is part of the Labronico Group He expresses himself with abstract geometric compositions. As an illustrator he has created numerous sketches and covers of poetry books. He has held numerous solo exhibitions, among others: in 1973 at the Galleria Toscana in Chianciano Terme; in 1976 at the International Art Center in Rome; in 1976 at the Fremura 2 Gallery in Livorno; in 1978 at the Galleria Accademia in Milan; in 1978 at the Michelangelo Gallery in Florence; in 1980 at the Lazio Literary Center in Rome; in 1983 at the Galleria Arte Casa in Pisa; in 1985 at the Ghelfi Gallery in Montecatini Terme; in 1992 at the Navy Officers' Club in Livorno; in 1995 at the Galleria il Discovolo in Bonassola; in 1996 at the Galleria Il Fitto in Cecina; in 1999 at the Galleria Nuova Fortezza in Livorno. He has participated in collective exhibitions in galleries and institutions both in Italy and abroad: Lucca, Genoa, La Spezia, Pietrasanta, Fiorano Modenese, Follonica, Pisa, Livorno, Brescia, Brussels. His works can be found in the municipal art galleries of Lerici and Bonassola, and in private collections. Among others, Ferruccio Battolini, Michelangelo Masciotta, Enzo Fabiani, Antonio Oberti and Osvaldo Peruzzi spoke about him.
