The painter Luciano Fiannacca, born in Genoa in 1951, completed his studies at the Barabino Art School. In 1971 he opened, in collaboration with some friends, a silk-screen printing laboratory. In 1975 he held his first solo exhibition at the Unimedia Gallery in Genoa and in 1977 he participated, again in Genoa, in the collective exhibition "Il Segno Disvelato" held at the Rinaldo Rotta Gallery. The following year, thanks to a scholarship awarded to him by the Municipality of Genoa, he spent a few months in London. Having returned to Italy he exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions and at the end of the 1980s he approached ceramics, after having used poor materials such as wood and jute in his creative expression. From the beginning of the nineties he began to frequent the group of artist-ceramists who met in Valter Boj's studio-laboratory in Albisola Capo and here he created some large works which were then exhibited in Savona and Faenza. In 1997 he approached the art of glass by working in the Savona studio of master Casarini.
