Born in Brescia in 1924. Belonging to a family of art enthusiasts or artists (his grandfather held a teaching position in painting, his father was a musician), he showed an early aptitude for drawing. He pursues painting as a self-taught, silently; and only towards the end of the Seventies did he begin to participate in collective exhibitions. A precise designer, in his paintings he offers multiple fruits of a lively imagination, sometimes reflecting reality, sometimes abstraction and it is easy to go back in memory to works by Utrillo and Mirò, touching masters from beyond the Alps, including Rouault. The pictorial material becomes precious, the combinations of a lively, marked and yet harmonious rhythm. And even the color support is variously chosen: from canvas to paper, to foil, also in the search for various formal results.
