Attilio Forgioli Biography

Attilio Forgioli (Salò 1933) In 1953 he moved to Milan to attend the Brera Academy with Achille Funi and Mauro Reggiani. In Sicily, together with Pardi, Bonora, Castellaneta, Rossi and Attilio Del Comune, he formed the Società Nuova group. In 1978 he was invited to the Venice Biennale and that of Sao Paulo in Brazil. In 1992 he met Marco Goldin, who organized a large anthological exhibition at Palazzo Sarcinelli in Conegliano. In 1996 his Valsesian friends organized an exhibition for him at Palazzo d'Adda in Varallo Sesia; once again it will be presented by Marco Goldin and Vappello, and Marco Rosci will talk about it in La Stampa. In October 1997 he exhibited for the first time at the Appiani 32 Gallery in Milan. In 1999 at the Bambaia Gallery of his friend Rebesco and at the Valerio Gallery in Brescia a series of oil on paper works. In 2000 Marco Goldin organized an anthology of his works at the Casa dei Carraresi in Treviso; the same exhibition will be repeated in Trapani in 2000 and at the Cefaly Gallery in Catania. Forgioli alternates his work as a painter between Milan and Valsesia.
