Primo Formenti (Palazzolo sull'Oglio 1941) His works do nothing but tell stories, reveal existential situations, stage his interiority, essentially manifest his emotional adventures. Language therefore becomes a fundamental issue in Primo Formenti's work because it takes on, in its sensational out-of-dateness and apparent illegibility, the dimension of metaphor capable of expressing the most authentic value of the artist´s inner personality. Formenti uses various anomalous supports, often used over time for other functions such as old wood corroded by time, cartoons shaped by his imaginative vision, canvases perhaps not intended for painting, metal objects worn by time and corroded by the action of rust. This is why his works, which often detach themselves from the wall and occupy the space, finding their place in the environment, can sometimes be defined as bordering on painted sculpture or, if one prefers, painting-sculpture.
