Innocente Ghioni was born in 1897 in Bollate, where he spent most of his life. Since he was young, he attended Don Vincenzo Donadeo's oratory and was trained by the school of life education represented by this place. In 1925, he participated with an active role in the theatrical blockbuster "The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ", achieving great success both as an interpreter in the part of Asmodeus and by collaborating in the conception and painting of the scenes. Painting became his reason for living, and he used his precise technique to create paintings that represented the atmosphere of the agricultural Bollate and the city's architecture. During the 1940s and 1950s, Ghioni created works that represented the reality of the period, with shades and tones that gave an aesthetic touch to the situation represented. In 1958, his talent was recognized with the success of the work "internal court Schieppati" in the edition of the Bollate Painting Prize. Ghioni was shy and unwilling to make himself known, but his emotions found expression through his brush and palette. Thanks to the intuition of his framer friend Vincenzo Minora, his artistic talent was valorised and many of his works were exhibited in personal exhibitions at the shop-shop in Piazza Solferino. Ghioni continued his painting activity in his home in via Ponte Seveso until his death in 1974.
