Tommaso Gismondi, a well-known Italian sculptor, was born in Anagni in 1906. As a boy he went to live in Rome with his family. There he discovered the wonderful world of great art and fell in love with it with a passion that has never abandoned him. From the vast production we recall some of the most important works not reproduced here: portals of churches in Alatri, Morolo, Sgurgola, Sora, Monte S . Giovanni Campano, Civitacastellana, Paola, Lanciano and Riese; sculpture for the chapel of Beato Angelico - Rome; statue of the Madonna in Venado Tuerto - Argentina; Great Lion of St. Mark - Mexico City; statue of Pope John Paul II (1985), statue of the Madonna (1987) and statue André Latrille (1986) in Ivory Coast; statue Beato L. Ruiz (1981) - Philippines. He died in his hometown on April 26, 2003.
