Ernesto Giupponi Biography
(Brescia, 22 April 1924) Self-taught, he has numerous participations in provincial exhibitions to his credit, including the Caprino Veronese, Bormio, Bomato, S. Agata, Santhià, Villanuova Awards, where he particularly stood out. Vittorio Ravasio remembers attendance by Giupponi also in London and New York. His solo exhibitions are remembered in the years 1968, 1970, 1972, 1973 and 1974 (Vallio, Montecatini, Roncadelle, Desenzano, Brescia). Purely a landscape painter, he is inspired by tradition and mountain motifs, where it is possible for him to "play" with the various ranges of greenery to recompose the foliage of majestic trees, the decline of the meadows, the composite retreat of bushes and boulders along streams with foamy or clear waters. Nor is there any shortage of characteristic city corners, such as Piazza T Brusato.
