Dante Graziotti (Carpenedolo 1919-2008) His hometown dedicated a retrospective to him in the Palazzo Deodato Laffranchi and Fabrizio Migliori wrote in the pages of La Civetta: “(…) Between the end of the fifties and the beginning of the following decade, Graziotti discovers the immense Giorgio Morandi and these compositions darken, the brown color of the paper becomes a fundamental element for the positioning of the objects. The jugs, in soft pastel shades, are arranged neatly on a never so uncertain surface. As in the Bolognese artist, the objects are placed on one or two lines, like footballers in a forcefully opaque barrier, thus denying us the pleasure of reflection. But compared to Morandi we have a shift: the object patrol has a high gradient of temporariness and, in fact, the subjects are disappearing before our eyes. Or maybe it's just the opposite process and they are giving themselves to us? In watercolors we find perhaps his most beautiful and original moment. Houses, bridges, trees stand out almost suspended on the ocher background of the paper: they are disconnected elements, almost weakened by the lack of communicability. Rarely brought together by a small strip of land that calls them back to earthly order. The almost academic sign of the beginnings fades and gives way to the bush".
