Giancarlo Ianuaro Solaris is a sociologist specialized in anthropology, who began modeling clay spontaneously in the mid-1960s and 1970s. In 1976, he moved to Rome and enrolled in the faculty of psychology. During these years, he began to paint and exhibited in numerous galleries in Rome, coming into contact with the Roman artistic avant-garde of the second half of the 1970s. He was able to financially support his stay in the capital only thanks to the sale of his paintings. Subsequently, upon returning to Naples, he resumed working with clay and created numerous works. Solaris' works are present in numerous ceramic museums and he has also organized numerous exhibitions in the regions of northern Italy such as Veneto, Lombardy, Piedmont and Emilia Romagna.
