Born in Rome (Italy) on 4 April 1904. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown and began his career collaborating with Travaso and, subsequently, with Marc'Aurelio, Bertoldo and Guerin Meschino. In 1929 he left Italy and moved to Berlin, always dedicating himself to drawing and illustrating books for the most famous publishing houses of the time: the period spent in Germany, where he met Grosz and the authors of Lustige Blätter, collaborated with prestigious newspaper and sees its artistic value recognised. From the second half of the Seventies he led a retired life in Milan, afflicted by a serious visual impairment and yet continuing to paint to earn a living. He ended his life in a Milanese nursing home in the 1990s.
