Giovanni Maranghi Biography
Born in 1955 in Lastra a Signa (Florence). He graduated from the artistic high school of Florence, and then enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture of the Florentine University, simultaneously attending free nude courses at the Academy of Fine Arts of the same city. His exhibition activity began with his solo exhibition at the Galleria S. Ferdinando in Bari in 1975. Among the numerous exhibitions, we remember the first: Spinetti Art Gallery, Florence 1982; Dalders Gallery, Amsterdam 1985; Galleria Diva, Brussels 1987. Some of the most significant events: The armchair of dreams at the Galleria Nuovo Sagittario in Milan, 1990. The 1992 solo exhibition at the Medici Gallery, in Carmel, California, and again at Studio 205 in Chicago, in 1995. Another appointment in the USA in 1997, at the Bourbon Street Gallery in New Orleans, before returning to exhibit in Italy, with the Giostra degli Incantesimi at the Pieve di S. Lorenzo a Signa in 1998.
