Angelo Marchetti Biography
Angelo Marchetti was an artist who, by free choice, distanced himself from the "art" circuit towards the end of the 70s, effectively disappearing from the market, both due to tormented existential vicissitudes and the voluntary choice to completely alienate himself ( as a form of cultural rebellion against the rules imposed by the market), at the cost of abandoning one's success as an artist into oblivion. But at the same time, he never stopped his artistic production, reserving it only in part for a small circle of collectors and the rest for personal research, and now re-emerged into the light. In creating this publication with works never exhibited until now, some coming from private collections, we want to re-present the artist for his expressive value and relocate him more fully in the global framework of contemporary art and, for this purpose, it was decided to have the painter speak directly, in a sort of self-presentation, revealing one of his writings which was used by Angelo as a personal note, on the occasion of a first evening for the inauguration of an exhibition at the "La Cripta" art gallery, active in Milan until the early 1980s.
