Mazzoleni Martino (Milan, 1935-1995) was a Milanese painter. He enrolled at the Brera Academy but abandoned it after a few months. In 1960 he participated in the Fiorino Prize and the S. Fedele Prize. In the first half of the 1960s he participated in numerous national prizes. The first solo exhibition was held in 1968, at the Galleria Il Timone in Milan. In the following years he ordered solo exhibitions and participated in various national events and collective exhibitions. In 1979 he began a series of exhibitions with the artist Alvaro Occhipinti - in large public venues - which led him to exhibit in 1982 at the Castello Sforzesco, in 1984 at the Galleria Civica d'Arte Contemporanea of ​​Suzzara and at the Galleria d'Arte Moderna of Gallarate, and in 1986, finally, to the Civic Museum of Lodi. The works of the years 1960-68 are based on a purely formal investigation of the figure, caught in a dream-surreal tension. Immediately following is the experience of neo-figuration, influenced by Sutherland and Bacon. Having overcome this type of interest, he turns to abstractionism and geometric expressiveness, creating works in which the aesthetic order manifests itself in a systematically structured painting.
