Gualtiero Mocenni Biography
GUALTIERO MOCENNI (Pula, Istria 1935). Painter and sculptor, he has had continuous evolutions in the two different artistic disciplines. He held his first solo exhibition in 1970, in Milan. From then until today, he has exhibited his works in the main galleries of the world in more than 100 solo exhibitions, including: 1973, Genoa, Arte Verso gallery and in Milan at the Struktura gallery. 1974, Fumagalli gallery, Bergamo and Forum gallery in Zagreb. 1979, Milan Zarathustra gallery. 1981, Paris, International Galerie d'Art. 1983, Spoleto, Civic modern art gallery. 1992, Palazzolo S/O, studio F22. 2003, Abilene (USA), The Grace Museum. 2005, Rovinj, civico Museo. He has participated in more than 50 international sculpture symposiums: in the United States, France, Spain, Ukraine, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Mexico, Syria, Dubai and, of course, in Italy. Since 1975 his works have been placed in public spaces in Italy and abroad. Thinking back to his land and re-elaborating it symbolically, Gualtiero Mocenni began to investigate, taking them to their extreme consequences, elongated forms of totemic spirituality that impose themselves in as many as 70 squares and gardens around the world like contemporary obelisks.
