Monti Rolando (1906 - 1991) Rolando Monti attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence under the guidance of Felice Carena. Here he met Emanuele Cavalli, Fausto Pirandello and Giuseppe Capogrossi, with whom he actively participated in the artistic life of the city, carrying out research on the value of the tone of colour. Tonalism had spread widely among the artists of those years, active in Rome, such as Zivieri, Janni, Mafai, Stradone, Tamburi, who believed they were recovering the coloristic construction of the image of the fifteenth-century tradition. The artist favored subjects and themes of everyday life, using spotty, pure and bright colours.
