Giuseppe Motti Biography

Motti Giuseppe (Aarena Po, 1908- Milan, 1988) was an Italian painter. He trained in the early 1930s at the Brera Academy in Milan, where he joined the group of clarists and became friends with Umberto Lilloni. During the war, he fought as a partisan in Val d'Ossola. In 1943 he held his first solo exhibition in Pacenza and, later, in Milan. During his long career he participated in the main national art exhibitions, where he received prizes and recognition. Among others, he participated in the Suzzara Prize in 1950, 1953 and 1958 and in the Rome Quadrennial in 1956. In 1965 the Municipality of Milan dedicated an important anthology to him in the spaces of the Rotonda della Besana.
