Antonio Musella was born in Naples in 1939 where he completed his artistic studies. He has lived and worked in Milan since 1964. His first personal exhibition in Milan dates back to 1973 at the Avanguardia 2 art gallery and as Spartaco Balestrieri wrote in the exhibition catalogue: “...among the intellectuals who immigrated to the north he is certainly one of the most reluctant to exhibition and commercial climbing and art, which is always difficult, becomes even more so in his particular untitled works" His artistic curriculum is divided into 2 large periods: the first from 1964 to 1985 is characterized by works of a neofigurative/conceptual nature; the second from 1985 to 2006 saw him engaged in new exclusively conceptual research and in 1998 with the installation at the Monza Polyclinic of the large stone sculpture in the "meditative space", designed at the request of the property, his work was unified in a " Third Way” where the project, the subject and concept - matter, intellect and creativity express unity in multiplicity. From 1973 to 1985 he was Art Director of the Avanguardia 2 and Artespiga Art Galleries in Milan. He was also a member of the juries of Painting and Sculpture Awards.
