Antonio Nocera was born in Caivano (NA) in 1949, he studied at the Institute of Art and the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, attending painting, scenography and sculpture courses, he was also interested in leather working, of ceramics and all printing techniques. In 1970 he moved to Milan. One of his first exhibitions was held at the Galleria la Ripa (MI). In 1975 he was in Parma for an important exhibition on the theme of the Resistance at the Scuderie della Pilotta, then transferred to Modena at the Civic Museums. In 1978 he created the official poster for the Museum of the First Partisan Republic of Montefiorino (MO). He then held several exhibitions in France, Switzerland and England, consolidating the «Pulcinella» trend. In 1988 he moved to Rome collaborating with the State Mint and Parliamentary Institutions. In 1989 he was invited by the committee for the celebrations of the Bicentenary of the French Revolution for an exhibition at the European Parliament in Strasbourg and then in Rome with the patronage of the French Embassy. His solo shows followed: 'Histoire de Pinocchio', 'Petit Chaperon Rouge' and he also created a portfolio for the World Foundation for AIDS Research of Prof. Luc Montagnier under the aegis of UNESCO. In 1998 he created the official sculpture of the eleventh «World Congress of the International Association of «Industrial Relations» held in Bologna. In April '98 one of his bas-reliefs was presented to the Holy Father John Paul II on the theme "Year 2000" and in March 1999 the volume "Gospels" illustrated for the Jubilee. In 2000 he was the protagonist of the new cycle of exhibitions entitled «Terres de lune, terres de fable» and in the Monastery of San Giovanni in Parma he began the cycle of exhibitions «Gospels in the Monasteries of Europe».
