Aldo Oppici Biography
Aldo Oppici, Sabbioneta 1908 - Vimodrone 1985. Aldo Oppici was born in Sabbioneta on 9 September 1908. Despite the research conducted on the occasion of this exhibition, very little is known about his life and his creative parable: the limited bibliography that can be concretely found does not help in fact, to clarify neither his training (which would help to understand in which areas to look for information about him), nor what the development of his poetics was - documents in hand. It is therefore hoped that the exhibition can constitute the appropriate stimulus to encourage a rediscovery of the artist, to be carried out possibly - given the absence of minimally in-depth texts - by working on first-hand information that could be provided by relatives and heirs who escaped this reconnaissance. Among the few certain data, reported in some of the most well-known artists' dictionaries, we must especially point out the Milanese residence, the attendance at some prizes (in 1964 in Acqui Terme, in 1966 at the Gabriele D'Annunzio Prize in Gardone Riviera, in 1967 at the Milan Art Biennale, in 1967 again in Acqui Terme and in Milan in the "Antica Valle del Po" competition) and the staging of a certain number of personal exhibitions (in Alessandria in 1942, in Monza in 1956, in Busto Arsizio in 1958, in Cadenabbia in 1962, in Seregno in 1967, in Milan in 1968, in Salsomaggiore in 1969, again in Milan in 1970).
