Pietro Pantino (1941 - ) is a painter originally from Palermo, where he was born in 1941. He is an artist who creates almost exclusively genre scenes inspired by a fin-de-siècle bourgeois world. Even his pictorial language is in line with his favorite subjects, taking inspiration from a post-impressionistic style in the construction of the image. At twelve years old he began to learn the first rudiments from his first teacher Ernesto Crispino and, a few years later, he frequented Professor Albano Rossi who directed him to the study of anatomy and advised him to enroll in an art school. In 1957 the latter had it exhibited in a collective exhibition sponsored by the municipality of Palermo and the Tourist Board. On this occasion the art critic Carlo Battaglia noticed him and dedicated an article to him in the newspaper "Grido alla Sicilia". In this review he achieved good critical and public success. Pantino's pictorial work is distinguished by a construction of the image by means of a synthetic and color-dense brushstroke. The large touches give life to a vibrant depiction, full of vitality. It is the colour, therefore, that is the absolute protagonist in the structure of the painting, in tune with the creation of a coherent atmosphere, dense with humidity.
