Aldo Parmigiani was born in Milan in 1935. At a very young age he became a pupil of the painter GM Mossa and at the same time attended courses at the School of Art of the Castello Sforzesco in Milan. He later enrolled at the Cimabue Academy in Milan to follow nude courses. He attended the Art Institute of Urbino to specialize in graphic art, while remaining a regular visitor to the Milanese artistic circles. He began exhibiting in 1960 and continued with numerous solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He also took part in important group exhibitions, gradually obtaining prizes, recognition and constant critical attention. In some churches there are his great works performed in mixed media. In the Parish Church of Tradate-Abbiate Guazzone there are 14 paintings that represent a Via Crucis in its personal interpretation. Many of his works have become part of private collections in Italy, Germany and the United States. A large solo show dedicated to him was held in 1996, in the rooms of the Museum of Arts of Palazzo Bandera in Busto Arsizio: more than 90 works including oils and mixed techniques were on display, with a presentation in the catalog by the art historian Mario De Micheli. On the occasion of this important solo exhibition, the Catalog (Edizioni del Cappello, Milan 1996) was presented by De Micheli himself at the Museo del Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
