Antonio Pecoraro (1938 - ), known as Antonino, is a painter of Sicilian origins born in 1938. His pictorial career took place mainly in Naples. Pecoraro stands out for an excellent production of genre scenes, both in rural and bourgeois settings, in which he develops his extraordinary technique of post-impressionist derivation. He favored figurative subjects, drawing on nineteenth-century realistic currents that made subjects of everyday life themes of the same importance as historical or religious ones. His representations of peasant girls busy in the fields, or of Parisians in the park, are famous, scenes always appreciated by both the public and critics. Naturalist in nature, however, an impressionist imprint can be found in his brushstrokes, especially in the nuanced atmospheres. The painting is presented in a period frame.
