Aldo Pogliani was born in Milan in 1936. After graduating, in a period of great industrial expansion, he founded a company specializing in thermodynamic systems applied to the petrochemical sector; in 1967, attracted by the figurative arts, he began to paint and the following year he exhibited at a collective exhibition in Sanremo. In '71 he held his first solo exhibition at the Michelangelo Gallery in Florence, followed by increasingly frequent exhibitions which led him in '72 to open a laboratory-space in Milan in via Vincenzo Monti frequented by the "operative" critics Portalupi, Budigna and Carluccio, while curiosity around his work also increases in the journalism sector. The television journalistic special that portrays him at work in tandem with Alberto Burri dates back to 1975. This was followed by the intense exhibition activity of the Seventies which ended with the birth of Tass.Tra.Rit., a highly original pictorial research oscillating between compositional abstractionism and action painting, which earned him important public and critical recognition.
