Giovanetti Da Correggio Raimondo, born on 19 June 1898 in Correggio, spent most of his life in Milan. Despite being self-taught, he dedicated himself with great commitment to portraiture, illustration and the depiction of views of old Milan, nudes and animal scenes. His temperament was impressionist and manifested itself through vibrant, fresh painting with a strong sentimental accent. The painter from Correggio set up several personal exhibitions in Milan, Monza, Como and in his hometown, expanding his presence also to collective exhibitions and to the provincial and inter-provincial unions of Milan. On each occasion, the critical success was remarkable. In addition to his pictorial activity, Raimondo also cultivated the etching technique. He died in Milan in 1978.
