Antonietta Raphaël (Kaunas, 1895 – Rome, 5 September 1975) was a Lithuanian naturalized Italian painter and sculptor. She is an artist characterized by a vigorously anti-academic conception which also presides over her activity in the field of sculpture, an art which, especially after the Second World War, constituted the object of her greatest commitment, with which in particular she underlined the tender and vibrant carnality present in stone, as in works such as Sleeping Miriam and Nemesis, among many.
