Riva Ugo (Bergamo, 1951) In 1977-78 Ugo Riva decided to dedicate himself completely to sculpture, frequenting the workshop of Tarcisio Brugnetti, an eclectic character from Bergamo. His art was close to expressionist instances, from which he moved away in the 1980s in favor of a more in-depth study of classicism, understood as a source from which to draw feelings to relive. In the 90s he introduced mythological and literary references from the classical world into his works and even when he talks about contemporaneity, he always manages to express different feelings, such as love, sensuality, motherhood, loneliness. Riva has held over thirty solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
