Remo Salvadori Biography

The artistic experience of Remo Salvadori, born in Cerreto Guidi (FI) in 1947, began in Florence where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and later developed and was fully implemented in Milan where the artist settled in the early 1970s. The first works show a strong interactive faculty with the places experienced by the artist as well as with the observer, whose attention they invoke. An exponent of the generation following that of arte povera and conceptual art, Remo Salvadori, with a few other personalities at a European level, opens up a new area of ​​conception and formulation of the work. It is the vehicle and outcome of the author's constant attention to what surrounds him and what he internally verifies is in close interrelation with reality. He participated in the Venice Biennales of 1982, 1986 and 1993 and at the Documenta in Kassel in 1982 and 1992, as well as numerous major exhibitions such as The European Iceberg at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 1985, Chambres d'amis in Ghent in 1986 and Happiness: A Survival Guide for Art and Life, the inaugural exhibition of the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo in 2003. His largest and most important solo exhibitions took place at the Magasin, Center National d'Art Contemporain in Grenoble in 1991, at the Center for Contemporary Art Luigi Pecci, Prato in 1997 and at the Querini Stampalia Foundation, Venice in 2005 and another important exhibition at Cardi in 2007 and in 2010 a collective exhibition at the GAMEC in Bergamo “The great game, Art Forms in Italy 1947-1989 ”
