Don Luigi Salvetti (1929 - ) is a painter and musician of Brescia origin. He provided many opportunities for good music to the choirs he directed in the last decades of the last century. He had a great passion for German sacred music, particularly pre-Bachian. In fact, in his personal library, the complete works of cantatas and oratorios by Buxtehude and many works by Pachelbel were found, in specimens that are often unique in the panorama of Italian libraries. To this repertoire are added elements of contemporary music from Brescia, including compositions by Giancarlo Facchinetti and Tommaso Ziliani. Combining his passion for music with drawing, Don Salvetti dedicated himself to the preparation of highly detailed hall librettos, as well as the translations of the original texts from German into Italian and, also, the writing of the musical parts for both the choristers and the instrumentalists.
