Gino Sarfatti (Venice, 1912 - Gravedona, 1985) Gino Sarfatti is an Italian designer from Venice. He graduated in Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Genoa. From 1939 he worked in the lighting sector and founded Arteluce, becoming the reference figure of the Modern Design "Movement" in lighting engineering. Sarfatti produced numerous lamps, experimenting with various innovative solutions regarding shapes, materials, light sources and lighting effects. Sarfatti won numerous prizes and recognitions, such as the “Compasso d'Oro” (1954) and the “Honorary Diploma of the Triennale di Milano” (1955). Some of the most important designers collaborated with Arteluce, such as Albini, Belgioioso, Peressuti, Viganò, Vignelli, Huber, Stoppino and others.
