Francesca Spanio Biography
Francesca Spanio is a photographer and artist born in Pordenone in 1958. After attending the Art Institute of Udine, she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where she graduated in 1980 with a thesis on Venetian mannerism . Despite his strong interest in painting, he has been passionate about photography for two years. This interest grew further thanks to the meeting, on the occasion of “Venezia '79 la Fotografia”, with some great American masters of the lens and above all with the historian Romeo Martinez who encouraged her to continue on this path. After moving to Milan, she attended courses at the Higher School of Visual Communication, where she graduated with honors in 1982. Her first fashion shoot for "Vogue Italia" was created in October 1984. In December 1986, Lanfranco Colombo hosted his first solo show at the “Il Diaframma” Gallery in Via Brera, presenting a black and white work on characters in theatrical costumes. In 1990 the same Gallery exhibited one of her portfolios dedicated to the theme of motherhood. Despite her commitment to the field of photography, the artist has always applied herself consistently to painting and drawing, specializing in the creation of still lifes, landscapes and drawings for the textile industry, collaborating among others with Ratti, Mantero, Rubelli , Missoni, Bassetti, Ed. Tessili E. Palmisani.
