Saverio Terruso (Monreale 1939 - 2003) He trained in Milan at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. In 1963 his artistic activity and personal growth began through a series of personal exhibitions and coming into contact with great artists such as Guttuso, Sassu and Fiume. He dedicated his life to art and painting, also working as a teacher first at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo and at the Academy of Carrara, then in Milan, where from 1979 he became the chair of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. From 1985 he staged a series of exhibitions in the main Brazilian cities, achieving great success. At the same time, his works also began to be appreciated in the United States, where he continued his exhibition activity. In 1994 a traveling exhibition was organized in various cities in Mexico and, in 2000, an important exhibition was inaugurated at the Trigram Gallery in Hong Kong, in which he was the only Western presence. His long career has led him to be one of the most sought after artists on the market today, present in the major Italian and foreign collections and his works are sold in the major auction houses.
